Mr Thorleif Hals is appointed Managing Director of BOEN AS. He is 52 years old and leaves the position as Managing Director of Yarwil AS, a 50/50 JV between Yara International and Wilh. Wilhelmsen.
Thorleif Hals has long experience within the international business arena as Manager/Senior Executive in a number of companies within the Hydro and Yara Groups and he has held the title of Managing Director, Marketing Director and Commercial Director. He has lived 11 years abroad from 1995 to 2006 of which 6 years in Asia and 5 years in Scandinavia.
He took up his new position as Managing Director of the Boen Group as of 1st of February, 2010.
One of the most important tasks for the management team will be to obtain a stronger market position through an increased focus on sales and marketing. The platform is the cost effective value chain from own sawmills in Lithuania and Russia to the large scale wood floor production unit in Lithuania, Germany and Norway. Thorleif has over the first months learned that the BOEN organization is both prepared and hungry for new market opportunities, challenges and a bit more structure.
Thorleif will focus the BOEN organization to be well known not only for its product quality, but to further develop the creativity and service efforts shown and offered to the market place. Both internally and externally it will be initiated many improvements projects, large and smaller ones following the Kaizen principles (continues improvements) used in Boen Lithuania for many years.
Please find below a picture of the new management team. Mr. Loyd Sannes, the previous MD, is responsible for the important coordination between production/logistics and the sales and marketing departments.
