Changes in the structure of BOEN's tongue/groove products

Same dimensions and advantages, but with a slightly different structure.

BOEN is making a slight alteration to the structure of its’ tongue/groove products.  The bottom-layer of the tongue/groove products has previously been manufactured from solid softwood boards.  But from now on, our up-to-date production facilities are manufacturing a thinner rotary-cut veneer to replace the softwood.  The difference in height will be compensated for by using thicker intermediate strips.

BOEN has performed comprehensive climatic tests, which have shown that this change does not influence the transversal cupping/bowing behavior of either the 2-strip or plank parquet.

The products structure will be as follows:

  • Top-layer: approx. 3,5 mm
  • Middle-layer: 9,8 mm
  • Bottom-layer: 1,7 mm

There is no problem combining the 2 products, during the change-over from the present to the new structure.  The dimensions of the tongue/groove products are 100% identical.

Advantages of BOEN 15 mm parquet

  • Extremely  dimensionally stable in transverse direction, even during seasonal climatic changes.
  • lesser formation of gaps on the wider 3-strip parquet.
  • “Two strips are more than three”: the short end joins provide a harmonic transition from one board to the next.
  • Higher production accuracy of tongue/groove profiles.
